• Canal Cave - Nidderdale

    Some interesting exploration techniques.

'The next thing was to purchase a generator and pump. The plan being to test pumping out the flooded bedding in Lofthouse pot and fill HUTWP. The latter in a vain hope of creating water pressure to open up the choked bedding'.

Trip to California

I appear to be going to Mountain View, California, for a couple of days in September.

If i extend the trip for a couple of days any one got any ideas or contacts for a fun couple of days ?
I've thought about hiring a car and going bouldering / sightseeing in Yosemite. I'm guessing there are some dive centres somewhere that i can pay to play with.

I went to CA a few years back and visited Yosemite, King's Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. For my money, Sequoia was the best; I felt that Yosemite was too crowded, while Sequoia was much less busy. We had a great camp-site next to a river . . . fantastic place.

And I was totally gob-smacked by the big trees ? the eponymous sequoias. They simply have to be seen to be believed.
