Trip to California

I appear to be going to Mountain View, California, for a couple of days in September.

If i extend the trip for a couple of days any one got any ideas or contacts for a fun couple of days ?
I've thought about hiring a car and going bouldering / sightseeing in Yosemite. I'm guessing there are some dive centres somewhere that i can pay to play with.

Was over there at a conference at Porterville in 2003 stayed with Dave Bunnell in a place called Angels Camp for a night ,he is the News editor of the NSS magazine, whilst over there with Joe Duxbury  we visited Black chasm caverns,California caves,Natural Bridge cave, great for swimming through on a hot summer day,and Millerton Lake cave cut through granite very interesting, would love to go back there as the friends we made really looked after us and made us feel welcomed.Hope you have fun

I went to CA a few years back and visited Yosemite, King's Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. For my money, Sequoia was the best; I felt that Yosemite was too crowded, while Sequoia was much less busy. We had a great camp-site next to a river . . . fantastic place.

And I was totally gob-smacked by the big trees ? the eponymous sequoias. They simply have to be seen to be believed.
