I was looking at an old diary (Easter 1976) where it says "... to Upper Winskill". I have only a vague memory of this, but think this was the home of a local club at the time.
Does anyone know if this is right, and if so, which one?
We used to stay up there round about that time, it was run as a hostel for a group called the Bolton Speleo Group.
It was a very nice place. And very keen cavers..

Yes; it was a good club and they did a lot of good stuff. Some of the folk you'd have met there in the 70s are still active (notably in the Matienzo scene).
