Very unexpected.

Dug the hole in the roof out from surface, and found the other end about 10ft away, clean washed flow stone covered rocks in the floor at this point, the drainpipe was definitely piped into this hole.

Having a "proper" dig tomorrow evening as the mini digger doesn't reach any more.

Wait a minute - I've got it! It's all a ploy to get next years credit crunch expedition to do all the housebuilding work for you! I knew you were clever but never realised you were that clever!

Nice one Mark; congratulations.

Brilliant!  Install a pipe,  clear all of the overburden  away , concrete grout the rest, and you've got solid foundations for the extension and yer own cave dig in your own home/garden!

Well, they can't exactly make you pull it down, can they?

Had a session last week following what appears to be a natural pot

Had another poke tonight, uncovered a narrow rift to the south, with an epic draught

The house is on solid, with a passage just clipping the corner about 10ft down, I got clobbered by a loose rock which fell out of the wall, and have had to have a few days taking it easy, but watch this space, not many places draught like this around here.

You need to consider installing an air source heat pump with all that warm air blowing out of the ground for free....

Spent the evening with Big Jim , walled up the side nearest the house, all walls of the pot are under cutting, it appears to be coming into the roof of a cross passage, but I may be wrong (24" bar in picture)

Draughting in several places now.

Looking really good  (y), will the draught stop when they fill in the new sinkhole up on the edge?, as you know I am conversant with the geology and hydrology of the area and if you P.M. me the exact location I could probably put my 5 pennerth into the discussion, although you may have already asked JSB?

( This is just a devious means of getting your present location so I can pay a visit, we've been out of touch for too long  (y))
