Welsh Cave Anagrams

Not even going to attempt it, I can never remember the cave names in the first place being wierd welsh names and I suck at anagrams anyway.

I find it funny that English people go on about Welsh names being weird, or illiterate (see the anagram comment) and then get offended when the 'welsh aren't welcoming'. Imagine if there were a nation of gingers they would do their utmost to leave.

Funny thing is, half of them (well 7 of 15) are English language names anyway. Of the remaining Welsh language names, most are very well known, even to those who don't cave in the area.  :)

Spotted 10, when I thought about the "qu" which can't be many things  ;)

No. 4 is really bugging me though.

It's clearly " XXXXXXXXX CAVE "

which leaves:
                    D    T
                R            A
              O
                I            A
                    C    N

but I can't make anything sensible out of that...  :-\

edit: additional "T" removed. Thanks Trogger

All I can do with those letters is Rad Action Cave.. which frankly sounds epic, and if I ever discover a totally new cave that's what it's going to be

Got all but number 8,, which I haven't a clue on but I suspect it is quite easy?

I posted a clue for number 8 earlier, which I think does make it quite obvious when you see it... Though you'll probably struggle without the clue!

Think I've got all except 4, 8, 10 and 11.
Could do with a pen and paper really to help with the others but I don't have any to hand.

Good quiz, thanks!

Just wondering, when do people want the answers?
Seems like most people have most of them.
I was thinking leaving it until Sunday evening and then I'll post up the answers (including the pesky #4 that seems to be stumping many).

Sat down with a piece of paper, even with the clue for 4 it took a while but finally got there! Disappointed it took so long to get 7.
12 and 13 finally clicked.
Just that pesky 8!! :-\

Cheers for the quiz mudman (y). Maybe someone could create ones for other caving areas!?

I'll be totally honest, still none the wiser about #8.

Cheers Inferus.
Brynmawr Old Fig is a delightful place at the bottom of the Clydach Gorge. Ignore the description on the Cambrian Cave Registry, we removed the pool and extended it a fair bit. Perhaps we should write up a new description for them? I should go back and have a look again. I heard a rumour that someone is digging down there again.

'Them'?

The Cambrian Cave Registry is a shared resource for all interested in Welsh caves: see http://www.cambriancavingcouncil.org.uk/registry.html for history; use the Cave Registry tab menu to get to names or browse on various maps...

It can only improve if more cavers contribute their experience and ideas (and even photos, now...).

Many thanks to those who already do contribute, e.g. via registrar@cambriancavingcouncil.org.uk
