I made a new footing board for speedwell cavern boats

I hope you made it a bit wider than the ones they used to have in 1984.

On a bank holiday weekend the batteries would go flat after about 30 or so trips and we had to revert to footing them. The boat got a bit close to the wall lights on one trip and everybody shuffled to one side resulting in me falling in and having to wade all the way back to the entrance.

Drove 200 miles from Kent to Blaenavon hoping to not find any evidence in Blaenavon Woods and above Cwmavon of any traces of old Draenen conduits between 350m and 300m. Then drove 200 miles back with very sore feet. As no evidence of conduits was found this counts as a completely successful expedition!

Got tired of having all my caving gloves develop a large hole between thumb and index finger after only two trips. And I'm even decadent enough to have separate SRT and digging gloves  :dig:
So made a glove out of an old oversuit earlier today, let's see how long that lasts. Probably three trips  ::)

That's clever!

Yesterday I fixed a tackle sack.
Today I went digging and broke a tackle sack.

The circle of life.

Great session removing a series of large pesky boulders though, luckily the capping rod started falling out of the now holy tackle sack in walking passage and not 100m down a pitch.

I have a plan for tomorrow. See if my lighting arrangement can film video under water remotely.

Same video lights I use, find them really good and great value in fact the camera and much of the other is the same it looks like you have stolen all my kit  Is it the TG5 ?

Very tenuous connection to caving, but bats live in caves, right.  :)

Sat through a 2 hour meeting for work today with this epic backdrop. Needless to say we spent a while admiring this (and all the other interesting vehicles) in the warehouse after we'd finished  ;)
