What else do you do apart from caving?

Gee, you lot are an active bunch! Apart from caving/mine exploring I like sitting on my backside playing PC games, surfing (the internet), watching films (not into TV) and a spot of DIY.

I am a climber, (E5 on trad and sport), diver (cave and open water), fly power kites, run, mountaineer, play guitar, read, swim. The car is always full of gear and I have often gone on trips to go climb, cave etc and ended up doing something else....... ;) oh and I do not own a TV either.... 8)

Digging old bottles does it for me also, I would like to empty a shaft sometime in the future, (which we found from underneath), in which there were fragments of old bottles dating back to 1650.

I own a TV but never watch it; only my son watches it.

I used to sail, then used to climb, but for the last 20 years I've paddled (anything and everything from sea kayaks to slalom). I ski (monoski) one week a year, and I'm toying with boarding. I'm also learning mountainbiking and caving, and spend too long fiddling with computers.

That's one activity I am giving up for the New Year.

In addition to caving I am very active in the following:- Kitesurfing( occasionally windsurfing as well), White Water Kayaking, Surfing, Mountain biking ( also road biking in the summer) and Running. I also love snow boarding and skiing, but that tends to be only a couple of weeks away a year( unless we are blessed with sufficient snow in the winter, when its off the the Weardale ski lift). I am also learning to play the guitar.

I will usually get out doing some of these every Saturday and Sunday throughout the year and a few evenings each week during the summer. What I do when often depends on the weather, if its windy I kitesurf, if the surfs goos I surf, if its wet I kayak, if its non of these I will cave

I have been slightly curtailed this last year due to dislocating my shoulder three times, however surprisingly, perhaps, Kitsurfing and Caving ( including SRT) have been the sports I can get back into the fastest

Other than that I do nowt!

Other than work (which is a nutty and varied job, with everything from organising conferences to doing school assemblies), and being completely involved in church life I:
tutor a Somalian boy
help lead a youth group for 14-19yr olds
help out at a homeless cafe
read avidly and excessively
run (ok, that one is only very occasionally).

As I'm capable of being interested in everything and anything I won't even bother listing the other stuff I do occasionally/ would do again/ etc. Besides, people would only ask what some of the stuff actually was...

I used to do quite a bit of climbing and mountaineering as well as caving - but caving seems to have taken over!

I occasionally play football and watch it a lot on TV, binge drink, watch TV, play computer games, and socialise with my friends.

That's the first time I've ever seen binge drinking listed as some kind of hobby, as though it's as valid a pastime as tennis, chess, walking etc.. Classic.
