Whitelackington has had a bad accident, it was apparently a bit touch and go for a while, but he seems to be pulling through. I am afraid this means there will be no bbc news links for a few days whilst he recovers in hospital. However, fortunately, at least it seems that normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

It is a bit of a gory accident, Mick seems to have the most bizzarre accidents! I (someone) will put up more details later if we get the ok.

blimey hope he pulls though and recovers ok. Stainsbury shaft wont dig itself!

Yes and he was due to dig at Stainsby's this weekend - any excuse!

Hope you get out of hospital soon.

I still believe he is in a serious but stable condition, it was a truly horrific accident from what I have been told.

Poor old Mick. Bad luck.

I hope your stitches don't sting too much, and your blood transfusion was screened for the bird flu virus!

Get well soon.

No, it certainly isn't the same without him is it - not a word about new labour for several days on here!

I am trying to get an update about how he is. I was also hoping to go and see him possibly (long drive though).

Nope, it was not caving related though has a tenuous link to the underground as apparently he was watching someone jetting drains when they lost control of the jetting pipe and it hit Mick across the throat. Yes, yuck. It was very bad and he was very lucky.

Digging yesterday at Stainsby's with Biff who said that Mick may be released from hospital today but they will not sew him up yet because there is a strong possibility of infection due to the cause of the injury. I think Mick may be worried by the thought of catching a hospital infection.

Good Luck Mick
