Not the only place (even snow on M60):

This happened last year, road obstructed for days. I've no problem with people getting stuck, it happens, but if it was me I'd be back ASAP to recover my vehicle.

There probably would be fewer if they thought to put a shovel in the car... I've ended up digging people out on several occasions when they've got stuck in front of me and they were wholly unprepared for driving in snow. 🤬

Complete chaos round Winnats and Rushup this weekend, I've heard an injured walker on Mam Tor had to be taken out by the air ambulance yesterday because a regular ambulance couldn't get near enough thanks to all the badly (& illegally) parked morons.

I was out jogging around Mam Tor last weekend (before the snow) and even then it was crazy. People slipping about everywhere and two lines of cars parked on the road obviously on double yellows. A happy parking attendant looked like he was running out of tickets! Thankfully we'd parked in Hathersage 👍

Presumably there's also been about a million identical photos of the Hope Valley inversion posted on social media last night. Only a handful of us were underneath it. On the upside, Castleton itself was literally deserted yesterday, with barely a car or tourist to be seen. Apart from the cold, walking back to the Chapel from Peak Cavern was a blissfully silent experience, for once. Ironically the 1800 bus to Sheffield, which was running fine and is usually full, was nearly empty.
