Thankfully, that's the location Andys  :clap2:

Apologies to all players for my stupid mistake regarding NC. My eyes are as wonky as Corbyn's glasses these days.  :wall:

No probs Grahams - I've made worse cock-ups - far worse! Anyway, try this one:

Convoluted farce hides in a flourish. (9,4)

.... bu**er! Just realised that I put the wrong letter count in that last clue (  : :spank:  :spank:  :spank:). Forgot one of the letters when counting up silly me!

It should be (10,4)!

Assuming Thomasr isn't going for it, I'll say Wharfeside Cave which sounds to be an interesting location for the thin.

Spot on - so I think Grahams has it since Thomas didn't actually provide the answer!

Hmm... do we need a clue?

I don't know if this will work for everyone, but try highlighting the following: It's in the Peaks.

IS there a 70-ft pitch somewhere in a cave that's referred to as just 'the ********* Seventy'? (Like the Swildon's Forty?)

Hmmm... Not quite the right lines again I'm afraid! Sorry folks, I haven't pitched this one very well.

Clue 2: 'Celebrates a big birthday' is the definition, but only for the first word; the second is a word that means 'cave' such as 'pot' or 'sink'.

Dunno if it's just my phone but nothing after the colon is showing in your posts. So all I see is
Try and highlight the following:

Or
Clue 2:

Malc
Rusted and ropy, dog-eared old copy.
Vintage and classic or just plain Jurassic:
all words to describe me.

That's the one Graham's.

Crickleymal, the text after the colon in those posts is transparent, but it should become visible when you highlight it. Or you could press the 'quote' button and read it in the text entry box. I have seen this used before so that people who don't want to see clues/spoilers don't have to. It should look like this when you highlight it:

Try it on the answer for this clue: 'cocktail' is an anagram indicator, 'small actress with' is an anagram of 'Christmas Swallet', and 'celebrates a big birthday' is a definition for Christmas.
