I was really sorry to hear of John?s passing. He was a stalwart member of CREG for many years and continued to contribute ideas and articles to the CREG Journal long after he ceased to venture underground.

In particular, I?ll miss meeting him at CREG Field Meetings, discussing cave radio ideas and his many other interests, including microscopy and heraldry. Characteristically, towards the end of last summer?s field meet, he disappeared along the road past KMC Valley Entrance to collect samples of moss from the stone walls for later examination.
