• Tony is on holiday until Saturday 20th

This means that the Travelling Shop will be out of action for a week and any inquiries sent to him won't be picked up until he's back.

In the meantime the rest of the Starless River team will be hard at work ensuring online orders are posted out to you all. Thanks everyone.

  • Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Pollaraftra Access

Just a note for visitors, access to this fine stream cave is **only** to be had after telephoning the farmer. He's lovely if you follow this procedure, and known for being a bit grumpy if you don't.
Talk to a local caver to get the number, it's not secret but not actually publicised (this is a locally taken decision which I'm respecting).
If any visitor needs guidance, contact me by the various usual means. I'm posting this because there were a couple of misunderstandings with the farmer recently, and I have a vested interest in not losing access <g>

Parking has become a bit of a problem too along the track to the Pollnarafta.
Even though there appears to be ready made car parking areas near the cave. They are not owned by our friendly cave owning farmer.
Best leave your car(s) on the public highway and yomp in.
Making sure not to block gateways , corners or turning areas for big tractor trailer combinations.
