• Tony is on holiday until Saturday 20th

This means that the Travelling Shop will be out of action for a week and any inquiries sent to him won't be picked up until he's back.

In the meantime the rest of the Starless River team will be hard at work ensuring online orders are posted out to you all. Thanks everyone.

  • Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Remember the cavers' competitions at Hidden Earth last year?

Remember all the prizes up for grabs? All you had to do was enter any of the competitions - roll a ladder, SRT course etc - get a raffle ticket for entering then keep an eye on the forum.  Well Dickon did just that - and he won a Rab sleeping bag!

As always I asked for a photo of the prize so I could thank, Rab for supportng caving - and wow just look at the photos I've been sent recently!

Thank you so much to you and your brother for these amazing shots, Dickon

Do keep an eye out for UKC competitions - because folks really do win all sorts of great prizes and some then go off and have some amazing adventures with those prizes ;D

Photos taken at mother Carey's kitchen, Pembs.

We just abseiled in from the top and prussiked out so bit of a cop out really but really good fun.

Surprisingly I actually slept quite well?

I've done a few routes in Mother Carey's, but I always managed to finish them in under a day. Was this a super-long girdle traverse or something, Dickon?

Just trying to get away from all the January tourists Dave.

I'm sure my second wouldn't thank me if they had to haul a ledge up the space face!
