Hi Guys now this is serious fun ,this was my first go at Pole climbing down at Newbury last weekend . Its got to be one of the best fun things I have ever done .
By day 2 I had got my time down to 24 seconds from the ground to 80 foot up to the bell at the top. its like running up stairs as fast as you can ,as you get closer to the top  the pole gets thinner so you have to pull in closer otherwise you will swing out loosing your footing costing you valuable seconds to get to the bell.

I'm sure that I used to see something similar on 'World of Sport' on ITV in the 70's. I think it was a North American or Canadian lumberjack sport. Looks great fun!
