    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

Roy was my uncle. I was three when he passed away.

Roy was linked to the Croydon Caving Club and I believe founded and ran East Sussex Cavers for many years. A club that became defunct upon his death. He used to drive vans of inner city kids up to Yorkshire to go potholing on the weekends. Apparently they all loved him. He learned how to free cave dive.

The internet holds only two mentions of him, one where he joined a Mine Rescue Practice in 1982

And a mention in Issue 74 of Prelobates.

Roy passed away aged just 36, from a brain tumour.

And that's pretty much all I know of Roy.

It was a long time ago, but if anyone here happened to know him or knew of East Sussex Cavers, I'd be grateful for any memories.
