Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

Rod's Pot to Bath Swallet

Hi All,

we're considering a trip to Rod's pot and Bath Swallet this weekend.  Has anyone been in there recently?  I'm not local so don't know how wet it has been recently and whether the connection will be passable.

Also does anyone know if there is any in situ gear on Purple pot?

thanks for your help

Unless it's really wet, you don't need to worry about water levels. It's very reactivate so drops very quickly after wet weather.

There should be a rope on purple pot, though some recent work at the top to clear loose stuff has made it a bit more of a challenging free climb. A hand jammer might be a good idea.

How are people going from Rod's Pot (entrance) to Bath Swallet (exit) expected to safety ascend to daylight?

Is caving safe?

I usually climb up on the left then step across at the top  :)

Or you can go in the other direction if you aren't a confident climber
