Regarding day rates: The cost of running the event is around the same per person per week irrespective of the number of days they actually attend. At this stage we do intend to offer day tickets on the door but we won't be able to set pricing for them until much closer to the event when we know that we can break even.
Offer really cheap deals for people that can commit and then sting those who don't have the easy life or maybe don't want to/can't attend for a full week. Strange logic. I'll see how things go and if a day or two is overpriced I won't bother, assuming I'm even capable of attending by then.
We're cavers, running an event for cavers... But we've got to be able to cover the cost of the event!  By committing you help us to achieve that.

So do cavers still need to jump through the usual hoops to get hold of Leck Fell permits, or can we just rock up and go caving? :)

'rock up and go caving'. LOL. If overseas Eurospeleo events are a framework to go on, trips to caves will be ticketed and scheduled and people will be given a time slot to visit them, plus will be required to register in the morning plus deregister in the evening to prove their safe return.  Just a guess, happy if someone who knows the score can flesh out the details though....

"The score" is still being planned but rest assured the details will be made available once they are finalised, however the "permit system" will still be in place but the permits will only be available to Eurospeleo delegates and as the Cap'n already suggested above, it is likely that delegates will need to do some form of booking in and out, if only to ensure that people are out of the caves...

Surely isn't that what is supposed to happen when you want to go caving in the dales? (without the laughing - of course)
