Seems so, however he had probably dug away the foundations, and maybe even under a main road....then again when he died, he owed the council over four hundred grand serves'em right, bloody do-gooders.

I reckon you'd probably want somebody to do something if you lived next door to him and he was undermining his house, your house, and the road!
