I old Singing Rock Digger is due retirment and tbh I never liked it that much, it was a pain to adjust and a bit faffy to put on.

I was looking at Starless River and these look very comfy, more like a climbing harness and I may be spending a bit of time hanging around it one. I don't do that many tight SRT trips each year and don't mind replacing it in a couple of years, as I guess the padding will make it less durable.

Has anyone used one and what are your thoughts?

I have one, along with the Alp Design Bunny.

Its like prussiking in an arm chair, a lot more comfy when hanging about on a traverse or rebelay for a while

Compared with the petzle avanti it takes a little bit more care to setup correctly. Never used any other caving harnesses. (Its comfier than some climbing harnesses I've used too!)

Proper gear loops are useful too, although I'm sure others will prefer not to have them.

I'm very tempted. Prussiking in an arm chair sounds very tempting!

How does it take more care to setup then an Avanti?

It has two buckles to set the waist band, one on either side above the leg loops. and then one on each leg loop.

I thought I had set it nice and tight, then nearly fell out of it on the first abseil. Might have just been me but worth mentioning.

Got it this morning and couldn't belive how light weight it feels. Jury is out on how long it will last, but it's certainly comfy.

It does need cranking quite tight around the waist that's for sure. The other thing is that as it feels so much like a modern climbing harness I kept wanting to pull it up as it felt like it was sitting to low.
