Brilliant! Can we now lobby the government NOT to tax us extra to try and make everyone reverse the weather back to being crappy and cold again!

Worth a try  ;)

Extra bonus is that global warming means the flatlanders will have to relocate to somewhere higher (but not on Mendip, this is a local hill for local people  ;) )

Serves them right for living at or below sea level

Doesn't that mean Hughie will end up farming rice in paddy fields?

He could buy some wellingtons for his cows.  ;)

There might be an EU subsidy for that too  :D

If it happened consistantly over the next few years and the bats dont hibernate (or torp) could this affect access to certain caves?

Well IMHO it should.
I like bats
& I do not belive most cavers cause them any disturbance

but bat people, they cause me disturbance :icon_321:

Went for a walk with a friend who is well in to bird watching, apparently most bats are not kipping this winter, they are carrying on like it is Autumn or Spring
ie not torporing just shagging and hunting (y)

Well, they are all nicely tucked up in bed here in Surrey. Saw a few on a bat-counting trip yesterday. Fewer than normal, though, according to the bat man. Possibly gone elsewhere in the mines, or neighbourhood, on account of the mild winter? All pretty non-active, though.
