• Descent 302 is published on 15 February and it will soon be on its way to our subscribers.

In the newsdesk, read a review of the underground events at Kendal Mountain Festival, plus tales of cannibalism and the Cavefish Asteroid.

In regional news, we have three new connections in Ogof Agen Allwedd, a report on the iron mines of Anjou, an extension to Big Sink Cave in the Forest of Dean, a new dig in Yorkshire's Marble Steps Pot, student parties, an obituary for Tony Boycott, a tight find in the Peak District and a discovery in County Kerry with extensive formations.

The Cheddar Caving Club proudly presents:

A Caver's Quiz Night

8.00 pm
Saturday 18th March
King's Head, Silver St. Cheddar

A mixture of general knowledge and caving questions

Teams of 4

£1 entry per person

First prizes
Original artwork contributed by Robin Gray and Melanie Lloyd

ALL cavers and clubs welcome! (even the BEC)

We have clubs other than Cheddar who have promised to win ahead of us.

Axbridge have a team, BEC! - yes! - have a team, I suspect WCC will just turn up and win anyway but.... not so hasty... the questions have to be answered correctly and I have been working hard on them.

You have no idea.

It's going to be a stormingly fun night out - even though it is ONLY a quiz....

And the prizes will help pay off* your remaining mortgage.

See you tomorrow evening, Speleoquizzers!

* OK, not much, but "every little helps"
 :P 8)

If I say I am studying hard reading the complete caving manual do I get extra points :D

HURRY, HURRY, HURRY! ..... still places left (actually, just turn up on the night).
