Caving expedition insurance for Canadians

Looking on the SUI website, it appears that you would need to pay any rescue or medical costs, then apply to the SUI for reimbursement - which could take months. For a protracted rescue in a remote area, this could be a fortune. Somebody would need a golden credit card to make it work!

You might be able to get BCA direct membership insurance (red card) which will cover public liability and allow access to certain caves all over the uk

Are you sure that'd true? The FAQ on the BCA website seems to suggest otherwise.

In any case, it definitely wouldn't cover you for and rescue and injury costs.
