Being driven back from The Mendips yesterday evening, we suddenly,
belatedly twigged, what all that mauve conduit is for.
For a couple of years, we had been saying,
why are they putting cable t.v down here, nobody watches it anyway.
Survelence cameras now on most bridges.
They don't seem to flash.
So either they are not yet connected or they are running all the time
or just occasionally,
when "they" want to see something.
What is it all about?

Now the authorities are asking to be able to look at all cameras for almost any reason,
we are the most scrutinized country in Europe,
mind you, we also lock up more people than any other country in Europe,
I also expect that over the last decade we have enacted more laws than any other country in Europe  :-\

What's the betting the Daily Mail blames Europe?

Mister Brown hopes to double the time bombers are detained without charge

"The prime minister told the Commons he is still seeking consensus to double the current, controversial, 28 day limit but,
as Tory leader David Cameron made plain, he is not there yet."
