• Tony is on holiday until Saturday 20th

This means that the Travelling Shop will be out of action for a week and any inquiries sent to him won't be picked up until he's back.

In the meantime the rest of the Starless River team will be hard at work ensuring online orders are posted out to you all. Thanks everyone.

  • Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Digging close to Yordas Pot

Yes I do have lots of everything in stock ,But down South next week with one of our daughters ,
Will sort something out with you after that . You could go to Brackenbottom and ask one of the members if thya still have some up there
,there were lots ,but may have been used !

We've been to the hole again, just for another wee look and to make a video / take some pictures of how it is just now. This time Judit went in and I stayed out with our children.

At the end of the second video, it turns right to there (see pictures):

After that, the stones fall down about a meter, but it also seems to turn left, and there's constant air coming out from it. There's some points we need to make wider to access comfortably and see if it goes.

We will now be away for 2-3 weeks, but the next time we're there, we will have better equipment and we will try to complete a wee survey.

Forgot to mention the we left the access of the hole covered with the one of the rocks removed. So it is fully safe.

Also, for those like Cap n Chris who are concerned about digging activities on SSSI's etc, Dalton has been in touch with both the landowner and Natural England about a dig near Yordas.

I'm not as concerned about it as NE/EN might be
Just to let forum watchers know that we met up with Dalton and his family yesterday and took him digging. We hope to see more of them in the future. See here - https://ukcaving.com/board/index.php?threads/five-ways-pot-dowlass-moss-ingleborough.28023/

Good to know you can get retrospective permission; times they are a-changing. :-)
