Duke Street and Eastern Front

That's a very fine photograph of the Eastern Front you posted George!

Your comment above prompts me to ask if there is infomation on the typical elevations in DBC?
Only the Illusion Pot end is on the Survex model I have, but it looks to be pretty consistent at 265m asl.

Thanks George - so it's lower. Mind you, that's not necessarily a killer for the west to east (or vice versa) passage idea. Phreatic conduits do swap inception horizons and change levels. A few obvious examples are:

* the steep descent from the downstream KMC sump to the upstream end of Keld Head.
* the steep ascent of the East Kingsdale Branch of the KMC up to the main KMC level.
* The steep ascent from North Craven Passage to South Craven Passage in Car Pot.
* The steep descent of The Ramp to the much deeper Metro in the dowbnstream Lancaster sump.
* etc . . . .

Just in case anyone wants to accuse me of "pontificating", these are facts. I've been in every one of them, frequently. And surveyed three of them, so I have the data to prove it. ;)

Thanks for that Pitlamp. For those that are interested, a lot of the survey data for the 3 counties area is accessible on the Cave Data Registry here: http://cave-registry.org.uk/svn/NorthernEngland/ThreeCountiesArea/survexdata/
(see the threecounties.3d file for everything)

What I did notice whilst spinning things around was that Dale Barn 3 (the Expressway) is at exactly the same elevation as the upstream KMC and the Milky Way. Obviously it doesn’t mean they’re connected, but it’s definitely noteworthy.
