I see that May is now delaying article 50 until a 'UK based approach backed by Scotland'.

It is a bit ripe that Scotland are now complicating the Brexit process having voted to stay as part of the UK two years ago.

I would just separate England and Wales from Scotland and let them do whatever they want to. No bad feelings.

If Scotland separates, and remains a member of the EU and enjoys freedom of movement of people, how do you propose to control the border between gretna and berwick.  Build a wall??

Figuring out how a land border works should be possible. We wouldn't be the first nation to have a land border that required border controls would we!

One of the Unionist trump cards during the Scottish election was that they'd have to re-apply to join the EU, and that would be unlikely given Spain Catalonian problem. So Scots may well have voted to remain part of the Union on this basis. They may well still find it impossible to join in they go independent.

The idea of a controlled land border between England and Scotland is backward, divisive and stupid, IMO. We're called Great Britain. England, Scotland and Wales are figments of some peoples' fevered imaginations. None of the administrative components are separable. You can try it, but we can guarantee it won't work out well in the end.

A couple of years ago they decided they wanted to stay with England, now England wants to be an independent state, another referendum in Scotland would decide if they prefer England or Europe, I just hope they realise the consequences of going one way or the other, considering their oil won't last forever, and 'good old Maggie' has wasted their oil revenue, now we have another woman in charge-----

I think Spain would kick up a stink if an independent Scotland tried to join the EU. Maybe the way forward for Scotland might be some arrangement with Norway?

It's going to be easy for Donald Trump to build his wall now that he is president.

People are Sh*tting bricks everywhere!

In view of current events, my opinion for what its worth is that debating EU exit options now is a complete waste of time as they will be dictated by the progress of events from here on. And this applies right up to our P.M.

The whole thing has taken on a momentum of its own, and not just BREXIT either.
I quote Bograt

We first joined the 'Common Market' an agreement to trade between European countries, that's what we where happy with, this then became the 'European Community' --, not too bad---, then the 'European Economic Community'---, erm, are they targeting our economic system?, -- then they called it the 'European Union' and started laying down rules as to what we could and couldn't do.

This is the main objection to 'membership'.

Whether you are happy with the above or not which is an entirely accurate assessment, it is obvious that a very large section of our population would be a very long way from happy, hence the start of a chain of events over which no one now really has control, exacerbated by the possibly well meaning Ms Miller, and now the election of Donald Trump.

The road to trump started with the last re-election of Barack Obama, I listened to this mans inaugural speech with a growing sense of disbelief. Nothing about jobs, the economy, healthcare or whatever, what we got was gay rights and blasted climate change.

So now we have the wildcard, Trump.

Our government has its options already predefined by future events, I view the whole scenario with anxiety.
