• Tony is on holiday until Saturday 20th

This means that the Travelling Shop will be out of action for a week and any inquiries sent to him won't be picked up until he's back.

In the meantime the rest of the Starless River team will be hard at work ensuring online orders are posted out to you all. Thanks everyone.

  • Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

As a matter of principle, if you feel that something can be improved, do feel free to change it. The hardest thing is to put something up from new; improving it is relatively easy as you have an existing context to work within.

Then change it  ;D I put it up there because we had a blank space, having something at least promotes discussion and refinement. I promise I wont sulk too much if you do improve it  ;)

I find that progressing forward on all fours is a particularly good method to use when negotiating lowish passages.
Even lower passages is where i find the most efficient way is to get on ones belly and use elbows/forearms, and knees/thighs/toes to advace (and retract)
Wherever possible and passage height allows I find that walking upright certainly speeds things up... ;D
