Independent Charity Status for The Ghar Parau Foundation

Since 1974,  the Ghar Parau Foundation had been a sub charity of the British Cave Research Association (BCRA). However due to changes in the law this linked charity status became an increasing operational problem (particularly regards to banking). In March 2018 GPF and BCRA discussed this situation and on 13th October 2018, at the BCRA AGM, the membership agreed to the GPF applying for independent charity status. The application was made on the 13th March 2019 and after a long wait, followed by additional correspondence, the Charity commission on the 18th September 2019 granted the Ghar Parau Foundation independent status with a new Charity Number of 1185385. A big thank-you is extended to all the people that helped in this process.

Don't worry, many of you will not see any difference in the way the Ghar Parau Foundation is operated, this change is only to make the managing of the Foundations assets smoother.
