just wondering ifany one has done any caves at hodge close.

Not many natural caves in the Cumbrian Lakes areas - a few slip-rift things mainly, but there are loads of abandoned metal mines and underground quarries - check out other areas on the aditnow site, and also mine-explorer.co.uk
They both have extensive photo archives and listings of mines. The North pennines also has loads of mines as well as more natural caves

ok thanks for that.

off there thisweekend camping with a 4x4 group am in andtheys a mine there that was covered up with garden wast and litter we took a quickpeek in  itwent straight for about 10ft then theys a 5ft drop on to akinda slide surface but our torches wernt strong enuff tosee very far down. also straight ahead from drop was a small tunnell about 8ft orso above the slide style surface. but the whole place smelled of what i can only say is death.

i heard of some lads who went down it once but didnt stay long at all

pmsl ;D

we dont really venture far in to many of the mines as none of usare really experienced enough and we mostly laneing and drink while up there (not at the same time)

one of the lads asked if ifancied going down one of the mines when we are there this weekend and this is some think ive always thought about doing so here i am :D
