meccanno passage - got stuck // lost :(

hi - had a club trip to knotlow // hillocks on sunday . and as everyone was happy with the pitch lengths involved we only rigged the knotlow 210 and whalf engine shaft .

and due to having only a artists impression of the survey and no experience of the system - we elected to decend the 210 - investigate the coffin level to fourways - which all went with out a hitch - then exit via whalfe engine shaft after traversing mechanno

that's where the fun started - we got upto meccanno level and set off along the passage -

past the trench prop , over the winze in the floor and along a short stoopy passage - then encountered a junction - to the right it was a slight rise - and straight on a low crawl

as I didn't remember any junctions - I sugested straight on and as it was down hill - entered feet first - and quickly found myself in a very wet section of coffin level

with effort I turned my self around - and pressed on - soon clearing the water to continue in a flat crawl

the passage appeared blocked - but the rocks moved - and I was able to garden my way out into a small stope that climbed up 2m

a way on - appeared to exist - with boulders blocking the way - but a way past allowed me to drop behind them but again due to the fact it looked difficult to retreat from - I went feet first - but could only manage about 2m before I was extremely uncomfortable and retreated

disappointed - we returned to the 210 shaft and exited .

so - where did I go wrong ??????

was the way I attempted the correct route ?

It's been a few years, but sounds like you went the right way. I remember the 2m slope up after a wet section. It's possible there's been some movement between there and Hillocks. (You were most of the way through.) It would be best to descend Whalf and investigate from the other end, if you can find it. It's quite a sizeable passage going down a slope to your right. You could then clear any blockage and relocate the 2m slope leading to the wet section. Good luck!
