Mendip Cave Festival 2018

Hello everyone.
CavefestUK are proud to announce the the Council of Southern Caving Clubs (CSCC), have agreed to support us for our upcoming event next year at Priddy.
The old cavers fair and dig fest events will be joined together and revitalised and presented to you by CavefestUK. With the help of the CSCC, we aim to bring you the cave festival you all want to see.
Please keep an eye on our updates as soon we will be adding an event and entertainment list and a cave trip list for you all to see and sign up to.
Also please remember to tick either going or interested on the actual event post on Facebook as numbers count.
If you don't have a Facebook account, worry not as our official website is due to rolled out by christmas 2017

Thank you once again from everyone here at CavefestUK

Amazing news.....

We met with the Mendip Cave Rescue committee recently and asked them if they would like to be the sole beneficiaries of the CavefestUK event.
They decided to accept and we can now proudly announce that the 2018 CavefestUK Mendip cave festival will indeed officially be a fundraising event for the MCR.
A bar and food will be supplied and proceeds from this will be donated, along with any other monies raised by donation.
We hope that your growing support will continue and next years event will be the cave festival you want.
Thank you

Also new....

Another evening and another committee meeting.
Good news to report as the Bristol Exploration Club, (BEC) have agreed to support CavefestUK at next year's Mendip cave festival.
It's great to have them on board as we look forward to next year, so thank you BEC for helping us make this happen.

Thank you again to everyone who is helping CavefestUK bring this event to life. We value your support and involvement and look forward to next year

Hi chaps,
Well done on getting the support. I saw your poster about Eugene.
However, please learn the difference between ".your" and "you're." It might seem trivial but when you get it wrong, it can make you look a bit daft.

It's only one individual who was set the task to find bands and he is doing a fantastic job so far, besides the illiterate issues...I've told him to run any of his posts through the admin' for scrutinisation before any posts go public, so hopefully it won't happen again.

Mike.

Hello everybody.
Christmas has gone and the new year is here, which means time to dedicate all our spare time to organising the festival.
We aim to have a sign up list for the caves on offer by the end of January and T-shirt pre orders will soon be made available too.
Don't forget, if you are coming, or thinking of coming, please be sure to tick the box on the event page as numbers are important.
Thanks again everyone.

IMPORTANT NOTICE.
CavefestUK have launched their website and it is now available to view.

Sounds like you have a browser issue. Looks good to me  (y)

Hello everyone.
We appreciate your input and have updated the red fonts. We agree, they were hard to read.
This website is still in an early stage and is being developed on a daily basis.
Please continue to add your comments here.
Thanks again.

We are still intending to include digging as an option to people. As yet, we only have 1 option available to us.
If digging teams wish to include their sites in Mendip cave festival, please contact us and we will add it to our cave choice.

I am sure that some of the Mendip Digging teams would be glad of some extra workers that weekend. Help is always very welcome in LVS and we dig the site most Saturdays throughout the summer months. You are welcome to add LVS to your list.

Can I suggest to any digging teams that are inviting visiting cavers during Cave Fest (or any other time for that matter) that they give the visitors the opportunity to dig at the sharp end and not spend the session spoil hauling or tipping. I mean offering them a session at the sharp end, not waiting for them to ask (they often won't). I feel they would be more likely to want to get involved in digging in future if they can claw away at that lovely Mendip mud.

I do still need to
animated-smileys-others-123.gif
our team (ATLAS) for our dig to be included on the list. It is only just beyond a
animated-smileys-garden-010.gif
and only room for two underground at the moment, but by time Cave Fest hits Mendip, perhaps we will be entering
smilie_water_145.gif
.
So at present some of us are standing around
smilie_trinken_241.gif
by the brazier.
