New to caving 'Venture Underground' event - Saturday 8th June

Enthusiastic novices at our first New to Caving event with the Craven Pothole Club (Ian Patrick).jpg

The next of our new-to-caving events is this Saturday, 8th June, and currently we have spaces remaining.

These events are part of CNCC's initiative to provide opportunity for those who have often wondered whether caving could be the hobby for them, to give it a go as part of a relaxed, friendly, informative, educational and inspiring day run by local cavers or instructors.

This particular workshop is run in partnership with one of our local commercial instructors. The cost is only £30 for the day, and for this you will get the opportunity to venture underground (probably into Long Churn Caves) and find out whether caving might be something you would like to explore further. For anyone who enjoys the day and wants to take it further, ample advice will be available to help you continue your journey.

For more information, signup and contact details for any questions:

Can't make this session but still very keen?

Our next workshop is already in the diary for 8th September. For signup to this, as well as more resources about getting started in caving:

There was a pair of black knitted gloves left at the middle entrance on Saturday. Not typical caver's gloves, so perhaps they belong to someone on this "New to Caving" event? PM me if they're yours, and I'll get them back to you (freshly washed and dried!).

They may also belong to a member of CRO, we had a training up there on Wednesday. Will put out a message to see if anyone claims them
