Oversuits!

Despite reading through the many threads that have touched on the topic, it’s still hard to decide on a new oversuit so i was looking for some advice!

What are peoples opinions on what’s on the market and tips when it comes to buying a new one. For reference i already have an old, really hard wearing oversuit for digs so the new one will mainly be for regular outings (although it may see some digging use time to time).

Not ordinary humans, but they do fit those from the 'dips. I think it's something to do with long term exposure to Butcombe

The items you love and are really comfy always wear out too soon.
The ones that don't quite hit the mark always seem to last too long for you to justify changing - pity
In my case I am referring to helmets, but that is a completely different thread

PVC of the likes Meander (if you can get them) or Landjoff. Does depend on what trips you're doing - if it's mostly peaks/wales crawling then maybe not the best (boil in a bag), but for wet Dales pitches they're ideal.

PVC is easier to clean after a mucky trip. Cordura holds the dirt.

I'll second the suggestion above though; talk to Tony of Starless River. His advice is gold.

Not if you buy them in the correct size in the first place

PVC is easier to clean after a mucky trip.

I find green PVC chemical suits good for muddy digging. Keep an eye on eBay, search keywords: "chemmaster" and "alpha solway". They are often available (in random sizes) for less than £30 inc. P&P.

Your other choice is come to HE 2025 as the trade hall had 3 or 4 shops selling suits.

pockets are a massive factor actually i forgot to mention so this sounds great! do you know how big it is and how far up the pocket is?

The pocket sits on the lower half of your ribcage. Without looking it up, would estimate it's about 15cm by 20cm. Mine is definitely big enough to take batteries, survival bag and a mars bar.
