Posting Photographs

I just see what HardenClimber3 posted above - looks to me like a permissions thing from the difference between the two screenshots above.

It doesn't work for me on Safari Version 9.0.3.
I agree with Mark, it's got to be to do with permissions - admins can do it, the rest of us can't.

I have tried to post a photograph but unfortunately I can get it to work -

I am using IE 11 and the latest version of Flickr - I have copied the URL - see below -

https://www.flickr.com/photos/60888452@N00/24182003863/

When I look at it in the Preview mode (before Posting) all that appears is a white cross on a black square background - what am I doing incorrectly?

Thanks

Only as an included image - still no attachement. Followed your link and found URL for this and copied between the img tags

Thanks Brains but I copied the URL and put it between the image tags and it still would not display the picture. Possibly a problem with IE 11?

When viewing your link on Flickr I R-clicked the image and selected view page info, from their I selected the Media tab and scrolled down to the Image .jpg and put that in the tags...

I really cant see the problem with Photobucket. I dont like anything that degrades or reduces the image. Links are messy. I dont try to follow UKC on a mobile phone if you do just read the text and look at decent photo files on a pc.

It's a problem with Flickr  - there are several different url type things in there which look like the one you need, but only one of them is the right one.
This is what you're looking for, something of this form. The _b (or whatever letter) gives the size of the image.

To use a picture from flickr - Forget about being fancy and outsmarting the system.

Press the share in the bottom right - choose BB Code and select the size to share (medium or small will do) and past the genrated link into your post

1) this gives a small bandwidth image in the thread that is clickable to see the full version
2) this is in line with flickr terms and conditions (Important for posts by the forum owners) - They have the opportunity to earn revenue from any advertising when someone view the full size image on flickr

I did make a photoguide but hosted the images on my own server and it all crashed before I made a backup :(

OK, thanks for bearing with me. I found another setting deep in the admin that managed permissions for viewing and posting images. You should be able to post images unmoderated, see how it goes.

Seems to work ok, shame it doesn't show on preview.

Btw., its a 30 year old slide copy, that's why the quality is naff--- :(

Bograt - I've lost the thread of this thread...

So, what did you do to get the above pic here?
If it was in dropbox, I assume you Shared with public, then put the generated link URL into an IMG tag pair ?
Or is there more to it ?

Thanks

Edit: Ah, no, I get it now, it's in Attachment Options.  But then what....

Just type something into the reply box (a couple of dots should be enough), then select your pic. into the attachment box & post it. I browsed a memory stick for this one.
As I already mentioned it unfortunately doesn't show in preview, but comes up when the message is posted. -- simples :)
