I have always felt that a good pipe, cigar or roll up goes down well while chiesling out fossils, mimerals and stal. However I do find that spray painting arrows every 10 foot makes them taste odd, but does allow me to find my way back again easily in the smoke....

I followed Owd git down Giant's on Tuesday, just up to Garlands. We found that by following the trail of litter that some selfish tosser had dropped, getting back to the surface was a sinch!!

I have found in complex systems like that, or maze like mines that leaving string and tealights, cairns and waymarks of whatever old rubbish I have on me always works. Sometimes I have even had to use carbide ash and spent batteries when desperate or run out of beer cans and bottles...

Have you tried venturing back down Dynamite series yet martin?

Nope! But I'll try if you reconstructed Flower Pot to my exacting standards!
(That's the problem if you have long legs.)

I find that spent needles work pretty well because you can stick them into mud and little cracks in the rock and all sorts.

How good a survey? I've got a copy of the one off the Peak Monitoring website. Could do with a better detailed one though. Can you scan/copy and email?

If you want a on-line row bubba maybe someone should suggest in the Wales section that smoking should be allowed in the second entrance in Drenen lol. Them lot have been at for months!
I hope I never have to get involved in S. Wales cave politics - it scares me ;) :)

good to have a smoke if you've just gotten out of a "spot of bother" (stuck lol) calms the nerves..........

but at the end of the day...... its an enclosed public place......

doesnt bother me anymore though as i've managed to kick the 20 a day habit and now i use Cristal meth.

"No smoking & no carbide" is part of the access agreement. I assume the miscreeants will no longer have access to the system as their identity is unlikely to be a state secret!

Ralph, the individual has made an appology on forum and quite possibly won't repeat the mistake. I've already entered my opinion so won't restate it here. I will say give the man a break, after all he is one of the lads, so to say..

Two strikes and out should be the rule, if we have to have rules.
He's suffered his punishment on here  :spank: and now he's aware, as are others.

I smoke but never undergroud for a few reasons:

A) Enviroment (smell and damage to the system)
B) People around me
C) Raises heartbeat thus using more energy

Trying to quit btw  :coffee:

EDIT: Just my view not trying to refer/annoy other posts in thread (did't even read them before I posted)

tbh if this is aimed at a single person, folk should mind there own business unless of course they are the cave police?
