Things to watch

Lair of the White Worm - an utterly ridiculous Ken Russell film set in the Peak District and featuring Dove Holes. Good for a laugh. We watched it on YouTube but it might also be available on Prime.

& based on the Lambton Worm (dragon) from Co. Durham; you may remember Lucinda Lambton, the architectural broadcaster...

7pm Sunday, Patagonia are doing a special screening of Mountain of Storms (1968 exped to Cerro Fitzroy) on Facebook - it includes skiing on sand & snow and surfing - they've already done the same with some climbing & mountain biking films...

Already on the Youtube Patagonia channel:

I've been told Frozen 2 has been released.  Well won't that be nice: 24/7 annoying Disney when you're locked up for two weeks...

I'm off to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, all 7 series.  Again.

Following the principle that any hole's good in a storm - burial cairns from 10 mins:

One of John Beck's claims to fame, being in a Ken Russell film

Here's another one good for a laugh: 'Timetrap'. I watched it on Netflix. One of those films set in a cave where (i) there always appears to be plenty of light to see by, and (ii) there are the resident cave-men.
If you do watch it, you might end up asking the same question as me: "What about the cowboy?"

Didn't watch it, but Bone Tomahawk was on film4 last night - a western with cannibalistic troglodytes...

& This weekend only - Ironstone cave is one of finalists at:
https://www.londonmountainfestival.com/

Don't mention Ironstone. It was one of the caves I was keen to do when in New Zealand. Martyn Farr's bad back put paid to doing a trip in there. That was when it was still being explored upwards before they started prospecting up top.  The entrance is in a gorge at the bottom of Takaka Hill.  Harwood Hole opens into the same gorge. There are amazing exploration prospects out there. One permanently dry valley nearby has a choke at the bottom that belts a draught you wouldn't believe. A dream dig.
The photos show Gorge Creek normally and then after a day of rain!
