Q3  How many years have you been a Caver.  7

Q4  Give a brief description of the word wilderness as you relate to it  I can't relate to it; wilderness is lost in the UK and largely Europe, I haven't visited 'true' wilderness countries. Everywhere I go, I know man has been before, nothing I see is unique or unaltered.

Q5  Name a place that you have visited that best meets yours definition of  wilderness  Ecclesall woods in Sheffield is perhaps no more than 1 mile away from an A road in any direction, yet one evening in c. 1994, myself and my best friend went for a wander, in the bird reserve, and sat for a long time, watching rabbits and their babies, and badgers, and later climbed onto the horizontal trunk of a fallen scot's pine- about 20 feet off the bracken given its size. It was the 'silence' - by that I mean the lack of extraneous noise from roads, people, machinery or electrical devices - and the noise of nature, that conveyed the feeling. Therefore, that conveyed a feeling of wilderness. Nowhere I have visited otherwise met 'my' definition of wilderness, not even Thoreau's Walden, although he nods toward it, as does Leopold in Sand County.

Q6  Give a brief definition of the word spiritual as it relates to you this equals positive emotion, and is derived by being in a place which inspires me to appreciate natural beauty. And sometimes it is enhanced by psychoactives - however generally, green open spaces are all it takes.

Q7  Give a brief description of a place that you consider to be spiritually inspirational The grass verge,at the point where the road from Sheffield to Baslow and the road from there to Fox House diverges. Some mornings at 6am, in the summer months, is the site of the most amazing display of wild flowers, and it's this plus the fact that for the rest of the year, no-one would give a monkey's about that triangle of grass - maybe even at that time no one does, but to me it's mind blowing.
