I think its significant that the statistics showed that 'educated people' voted to remain but they were over-ridden by the rest... It shows that this country is well on the way to the decline that America is suffering. Once Boris and Trump are in charge who knows what will happen - maybe someone can turn out the lights as UK inc will be in terminal decline.

Dave

I would be interested to see the reference for that statistic as I know the voting of a number of people, some of whom are very intelligent, and who voted leave..........

Chris.

There will be a lot more psephological analysis of the results over the coming days and well into the future no doubt.

I see. So poorly educated people who have a low income were more likely to vote leave. I wonder why that was? Perhaps they are those most affected by the negative effects of EU membership, and have made their position clear....... One in the eye for the urban elite.

Its possible that the " poorly educated people on low income" got fed up with being screwed.

Thing is, democracy is democracy and you cant have it both ways. Maybe it should be made compulsory to spend so many hours every day watching TV so that they can be properly brainwashed.

I agree the vision of horror re Trump and Johnson, thing is though, we are reading tea leaves here.

Let's face it, politicians were involved in campaigning on both side so we were bound to be fed a pack of lies, damn lies and a few misleading statistics.
Most of the people I know who voted out did so not becuse of immigration or that they believed the ?350m daily contribution fib but because they a fed up with the imposition of rules that appear stupid or pointless.
Not to mention the amount of money that is wasted on rediculous schemes and the gravey train that is disguised as the job of MEP.
On that note, one question springs to mind.
If Europe is so important to us.....name your MEP?

I agree with with post in its entirety.
"gravey trains"
I could tell you things about EU funded 'money go rounds' but dare not on the public forum, not stories I have heard but first hand knowledge.

How much will re-furbishing Hadrians wall cost? :halo:

Well, since it will have to be moved North, we could refurbish it as we rebuild it......

I see no option but for Scotland to leave the UK now, so hopefully they will just get on with it.

I don't get the Scotland thing. Do they want independence or not?

They obviously don't want independence from Europe, and at their referendum to leave the UK, they didn't want independence from us.

Let them have another 'leave the UK referendum' if they want. They get more from the UK than they're ever likely to get from Europe.

I voted NO in the original referendum.
I voted OUT on Thursday.
Seems that makes me an uneducated f*ckwit.

So the letters after my name and a respectable pension mean nothing...

Well said I'm the same, its all about accountability as a common market acceptable but not the monolith that it is now

I think it's the old political story
What do the other side / UK want?
We vote against that and want the opposite! Because we can.
