Yongnuo YN-560 flashguns

Has anyone any experience of the Yongnuo YN-560 flash units?

It sounds like they may be a viable (and indeed potentially superior if powerful enough) alternative to Metz 45s.  I'm particularly interested to know what the wide-angle light output is like compared to the Metz units; it's hard to tell from the information on the web.

No experience of the 560, but i'm a user of a 460ii, and have been for around 3 years. It's a fantastic bit of kit. The spec is incredible for the price, and it's seemingly very resilient. Had it underwater (by accident) a good handful of times to no ill effect. The build quality certainly isn't a Metz or a Speedlight, but neither is the price! The wide diffuser is comparable with my Speedlight diffuser = wide enough for a very wide shot. I could try a test if you're really interested... Main downside is that the built in IR trigger is not nearly as sensitive as a firefly, so can only be used in certain situations. However it can cope with double flash, which was a nice suprise!

i think i have one. one thing that i think that one does is when in manual mode it shuts down after a minute which can be a bit annoying.
