Whilst that argument was going on, we started another with a padlock, the padlock also lost.

Should have taken a break. Up to 1080  uploads now. Ended up with early Shatter stuff. I cant even remember where some of the stuff is now. Certainly beyond tapes. Ah the days before tape when we wandered freely.

Printed another 5 copies of the Stoney Middleton Dale SSSI Cave Audit and Conservation Management Plan for DCA.

Continued work on my book:- Four Decades of Caving (or 'How to avoid getting trapped, drowned, crushed or blown-up!') The memories that's bringing back, the book's getting bigger all the time, sigh. Still, it's coming together now...

Cleaned an awful lot of mud from my gear and nursed some bruises after failing to negotiate Freeze Squeeze in Nettle Pot last night. I think the overindulgent Christmas festivities may well have played their part.

I'll have to leave the more Buttered Badgers to dig in Derbyshire Hall.

Well, I have an ancient Warmbac oversuit with half the seams coming undone. But being a cheapskate and trying to eek out another year (or five) from it, I want to see if I can patch it and stitch up any seams that are not too far gone. However, it is full of mud and if I am going to try to mend it, I will have to try to get at least some of the filth out of it (a rare task for me).

As it was bin day today, I had a convenient empty dustbin waiting for me when I got home. That will make an excellent container for dunking the filthy object in, I thought. Picking out a few indescribable items from the bottom of the bin (probably been there for a year or so), I took the bin over to the hosepipe, out in the side passage. I gave it a quick hose down on the inside, and tossed the oversuit in. Followed it with a bit of cheap shampoo, I then commenced half-filling the bin, and selected a bit of 2 by 2 to use as a dunker/stirrer.

I had forgotten that my oversuit is, in fact, red and blue, and not a general pinky-brown colour. Now it is hanging up in the dry, and I can't wait to see how many more trips I can get out of it after careful repair, once dry.

wrote up a bit for the club magazine. mostly moaning about cave related injuries. liked the earlier post about the caving autobiography. there are a few now for caving. started a diving type book a few years ago then my joint author got killed on a wreck he was looking at for me. he was trying to lift a big anchor that was to go in my garden. sort of put me off but all the research and photos are in place. maybe one day. must buy a new oversuit but as my caving future is still uncertain will wait a bit.

Discussed whether a set of missing skelebobs discovered in a rift while the Wentbridge viaduct were mistakenly miss laid or wether they were purposefully mislaid and the surrounding ethics and morals surrounding engineering and engineering projects.
