This article and many more like it are also stored on a microfiche roll in Sheffield Local Studies Library - in fact it's a copy of Puttrell's entire scrapbook of published work and other relevant newspaper/magazine articles. It's not always great quality, some parts are duplicated, but there's a huge resource of information in there. It goes right up the 1930s. No idea if there are backup copies of this roll, or where the original is. One of the best parts is an article about a meeting set up by the journalist in 1907 during the 'spar boom', between Robert How Ashton, former Barmaster and owner of Odin, Hazard and Pindale mines, and the only other surviving member of the famous Rake Head 'team photo', shown here: https://ukcaving.com/board/index.php?topic=19905.0 - he's the small guy at far right middle row - can't remember his name. Ashton is the guy with the top hat and the dog.
It might be worth asking Sheffield whether making a backup copy of this roll might be viable, given the importance of the material on it.
