GPF seeks new Secretary

After many years of excellent and dedicated service, Phil Rowsell has decided to step down as Secretary of the Ghar Parau Foundation.  The Trustees are therefore looking for a new Secretary.

As interim acting Secretary of the Foundation, I would like to invite people to apply for this very interesting and rewarding position.

As most cavers know, the Foundation has been responsible for sponsoring many international expeditions over the last 40 plus years and is one of the many reasons why Britain is at the forefront of international cave exploration.

The post requires attendance at two meetings per year (one in March/April, usually held in Derbyshire, the second at Hidden Earth). The application system is highly automated but the Secretary is responsible for liaising with other bodies such as the Mount Everest Foundation. Overall, the time commitment, in addition to the two meetings, is likely to be in the region of 4 ? 6 hours per month plus an extra 4-6 hours for the months with meetings.

Anybody who is interested in being involved please contact me by e-mail to: nick.williams@hucklow.net

The Ghar Parau Foundation is Registered Charity number 1185385
