If you're not in a club, you're not a bona fide caver!

There seem to be several schools of thought on this one. when arriving at a pitch that is allready rigged, do you rig your own and coil the other out of the way? or use the rig that is allready there? whatever they decided to do they should have re-rigged your mates rope when they left. there's plenty threads on this allready so i wont harp on about it.
Sounds to me like both parties were bone-fide cavers but just cos they were club cavers doesnt make them any more bone fide than your mates. or any good at rigging etiquet.

Am I missing something?  Does someones sexual/chocolate preferences affect their status as a bone-fide caver?

Careful, we're entering Jagger/Faithful territory here , I,(and I suspect the rest of us) don't want to know what Chris gets up to in his personal life........besides, think of the impact on his job if this sort of thing were to be made public.

Aha!, S'ok; I think I've found it.

gay

Originally meant joyful, vibrant, and full of life.

Now it's used by ignorant (and often prejudiced) people to describe something that they don't like. It's especially common among teenage boys, who use it to look cool or to "hide" their insecurity about gay people.

Gay is now slang for a homosexual person, that is, somebody who is attracted romantically and sexually to people of their own sex.

whey!!!! there you go :p

"One can be camp without being gay. Floppy wrists. Think Elton John and Jack from Will & Grace"

exactly.... running round in the pink club house, taking registration, talking about previous caving trips, what we should do next, stopping for tea and buns, pass the parcel, handing out prizes. Then donning aprons + feather dusters for a quick spring clean before dashing to the pub for half a larger + lime, pims or a glass of sparkling white wine.........
