Is that wood? Having just spent eighteen months bringing rotten wood out of a cave might I ask why on earth people think it's OK to put it into caves in the first place?

Dear old pal Cap'n. You are sadly in error. Who said it was a cave? Not me. Perhaps we should have stuck via ferrata and zip wires all over it then a scaffolding bridge followed by lots of coloured lights. Yes its treated wood but easily replaced and certainly in keeping with the 200 year old wood that still abides there.
Your mate Chippers.

(They are wellies)

Another shot from the course at the weekend. I was holding the camera, but can't claim total credit - Mark was guiding the team with flashgun positioning. Taken on mid-range crop DSLR Canon 600D, 10-22mm lens & 3 chinese flashguns.

Great course BTW, I'd recommend it to anyone getting into flash-based cave photography. Really good to put structure & method into taking and improving shots.

Fox Chamber in Winnats.

Was nice to see what a single flash could produce with my new camera set up. This is pretty much straight out of the camera bar a tiny bit of brightness adjustment. Shot using one of Fujifilms inbuilt "filters" Monochome.

Is it not just an old bolt that's been driven into (or caused) that crack in the rock?  :-\

It's clearly the top of a stake driven into a vampire's heart, which has subsequently been covered in sediment. I'd tape it off if I were you  ::)

I'm not greatly into photography, but I took these photos in Otter Hole at the weekend using my Olympus TG4 on 'live composite mode'. Lighting was primarily using a Scurion 1500 on max flood, with additional lighting from a warm LED Scurion 700.

I normally stick to photographing small stuff as it comes out better without a lot of kit, but I couldn't help myself but try, given how beautiful the place was.

I've not edited these at all, but I'd be very interested to see if any of the photo enhancing wizards out there (pwhole) can improve any of them a little, as I've seen some impressive results further up this thread.  :)

Here's a very simple modification of the third picture involving 'lighten shadows'  and a bit of a tweak to the contrast (in Photoshop Elements):
(nice pictures, by the way)
