Back in October 2021 myself, George Linnane and Mitch Parry visited Circus Maximus in Ogof Draenen. Wowed by the stunning formations we decided it warranted a return with the big camera, and then Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. Not wanting to do the trip without him, we decided to postpone until he was fully recovered. Last weekend we finally returned for another brutal +12hr trip Joined by Joel Foster.

IMG_0279.jpeg
workers have been laying pipes. Shovel in back ground for removing the loose from the pickaxe
IMG_0285.jpeg
we crossed a X of railway track and found this , on the surface large trees are growing here, in a bog . showing the collapse is definitely from when the mine was live .

A stunning untouched floor of hob nails and horse prints .

The walrus carries on the dig for next week

PA011016.JPG

this is a very small column with nice helictites that's hidden in a bedding plane
PA011041.JPG

this moth has clearly met a grisly end near top entrance. but has grown some impressive mold
PA010997.JPG

these helictites seem to have developed with a prevailing wind to the left?
