Been a while since I dragged myself underground and even longer with the camera. Great to get back caving with members of Dudley caving club, introducing our newest member to the awesome, though extremely muddy Ogof Craig y Ffynnon.
Caver Keith at The hall of the mountain king.
Our newest member George on his second caving trip admiring formations after the 2nd boulder choke.
A few shots from our Daren Cilau through trip today (in Daren, out Cnwc). I've only started messing around with a phone in a cave on our last couple of trips, and I'm quite impressed with the results it gives.
Lithostrotion fossil in Bagpus photo. Lithostrotion is a genus of rugose coral which is commonly found as a fossil within Carboniferous Limestone. Lithostrotion is a member of the family Lithostrotionidae. The genus Lithostrotion, a common and readily recognised group of fossils, became extinct by the end of the Palaeozoic era.
No fancy photography here, but I’ve been very impressed with how well my iPhone 15 does for simple underground ‘souvenir’ shots. Seems to manage both bigger chambers and smaller passages really well
(Two from Jama pod Gavgami in Slovenia earlier this month, one from Ogof Craig a Ffynnon yesterday)
Dear Lidl. I have given your excellant crisps a prominant exposure on UK Caving. You may use my copyright image for advertising for a small fee. Just found out that Uncle Brian has not had a hair cut in 34 years.
