Oh. One of the other diggesr has 5 acres of woodland and a huge sawbench. Timber never a problem.
In 2025, our Chair, Access Officer and Treasurer are all standing down. This meeting is an opportunity for interested people to make themselves known, ask questions, or just to spectate to see what the role might involve before putting your name forward.
Darn lucky with our digs. We got 900mm twin walled pipes from Hinkley Point C project. About £3,000 worth. Used as inspection pits but for single use only. At Vurley we had 60m of scaffold poles donated. Plus the big concrete pipes for 7m of entrance shaft. They were only in the next field. Look on Facebook Market place for local stuff. Often stuff left over from projects on there.

The loose walls have been reinforced with metal racks (skipdived) and homemade laminated timber (cable ties and fence slats)
Progress continues through wet digging.
If you can get your hands on an old electron ladder, they are the best thing ever for pulling rocks out, just wrap it round the rock clip the eyes together and use the rungs for pulling on.View attachment 20657used concrete screws to haul a big rock out. Very very easy to do and felt safer than a sling wrapped round it
