Hi OwenPearce, thanks for posting this here (I believe our Secretary also might have met some of your group at Sell Gill and heard about this first-hand... unless the two reports are totally unrelated). We understand that the scaffolding in the entrance may also be in a particularly bad state too.
We have forwarded this to our conservation team for their awareness (some stockproofing of the entrance may be in order), and added a warning note to the CNCC webpage for Swan Dike Pot...
Although it sounds like a job that could benefit from the passage of some time before revisiting...
