What caving related thing did you do today?

Just been to pick up my caving attire that's been fermenting in a Dinglesport green bag all week in the back of my mates van.  After a very hot and very sweaty day out in Long Kin West last Sunday.  Off for a weekend in OFD II and others this in South Wales this bank hols too.  I not going to be very popular as I smell like a mixture of dead sheep and wet dog!

Least I'll have room at the bar!!

Cleaned gear after a trip to a local project yesterday. Found a new lead on that trip!  :clap:

Also learned how to overlay maps on Google Earth - local geology maps are full of useful info. Hopefully leads to more prospects!

Went caving. :D Located a cave that hasn't been visited by cavers since the 80s as far as any of us know, and explored 50m of passage that wasn't on that survey. :D

Did a stock take of club gear for the first time in years.........oh dear  :D

Sunday - Waited in for Autoglass to come fix my cave wagon. Prepped some materials for a CIC revalidation workshop. Wished I'd gone down JH instead.

Went to hidden earth for the first time in my 5 year caving career, was well worth the 20 minute trek lol. But seriously well done to all those involved it was a fabulous event and next time I will remember to bring my camera (or a CD with photos on) to submit my own photos

Watched a modern Hollywood take on Journey to the Centre of the Earth, a knowledgeable & restrained study of both cave & mine exploration.

With a T-Rex & a tidy blonde obviously.

I am genuinely surprised that such an ardent caver has taken 5 years to discover the BCRA conference (as it used to be called, now HE) something to do with the  marketing of this event? or comunication at club level?

I think its mainly just geography.

Yes,  I admit  never really took an interest in it until more recently. I had no idea it goes into the interesting expedition stuff and there would be so much to do and see, I thought it was things for the older "generation". But mainly I guess I never fancied traveling all that way and not doing any caving.  In the last few years I would have gone but I knew no one else who was going :(. But this time loads I knew went of course.

Hopefully I can entice someone to come with me to Mendips next year as I definitely want to go back.
