Feel free to continue being super-conscientious and self-limiting in your personal freedoms while you pursue a low carbon lifestyle. You are free to do so and I am free not to do so, so shan't.

“We have to hold our nerve, and not be diverted by the disruptive few masquerading as the voice of the people.”

During the last few years it became horrifyingly apparent that a significant majority of the populace were AOK with glibly handing over their freedom/liberty to a totalitarian-minded state; furthermore it appears that the same significant majority of the populace (for whom freedom/liberty is clearly a non-topic, and a wasted concept) were self-elected co-conspirators in the cessation of all things which make life worth living. There should be a new level of Dante's Inferno/Hell for these people. To those for whom this cap fits, be aware I am being unbelieveably polite; what I genuinely think would not be acceptable to read. I would willingly back my views up with more vigour than any Just Stop Oil protestor could ever imagine.

Given that all definitions of conspiracy involves secrecy, how did this significant majority keep their plans secret from the minority?

& even though we've avoided revolution on most occasions, the UK population has never been known to do what the bourgeoisie wants. Pretty much all conspiracy theories have proven to be somewhat overrated.

A reminder of the forum rules: https://ukcaving.com/board/index.php?threads/1872/
Many people do consider global warming to be a conspiracy! Does anyone (outside a work situation) stay on topic during a normal conversation?

I invest quite a lot directly in various renewables startups and project expansion. It’s not hard to do. I think spending money on some dubious planting scheme instead is a waste of resources with no long term impact. Actually reducing emissions is the only reputable solution.

And I mean like the cost of a car or house, not a meal.

From last December:
I started reading, not expecting much, but then I saw this:
"The vessel otherwise runs on liquid nitrogen gas (LNG)."
Obviously I read the rest of the article, expecting more detail on this (or any other new way of saving the planet), but there was nothing.

Says it also runs on battery power, although that is only for 4 hours, so not really an alternative, but means it can run silently (presumably when observing wildlife) - most of time it is LNG.

Liquified Natural Gas. I expect it’s an error.
