Parking for Alum Pot

Just a note to say it’s been very busy in the Alum pot lane on Saturdays the past couple of weeks.
If people can do their best to park sensibly, not blocking access for the local farmer, natural England or the outdoor centre that would be much appreciated.

This weekend a small number of cars were poorly parked making it very difficult for the centre minibuses to make the turn over the cattle grid, similarly for farm vehicles with trailers.

If you plan on visiting during a nice weather day, particularly Saturday, please lift share and park with thought for the local access. A particular plea to guided groups to consider parking for your groups.

Thanks

It's worth adding that the Churns will be CLOSED on June 7:

Message from the BCRC:
This is to inform you that the British Cave Rescue Council has been given permission to close the "open" access to the Alum Pot system on Saturday 7th June 2025. This is to allow the running of "RESCON 25" BCRC Conference (part of the Cave Rescue Organisations 90th celebrations). It is only for one day and it is to allow us to safely manage delegate and training activities during the event. We are asking for caving communities understanding and cooperation for this unique event.

So try not to need rescuing that day! Go to the BCA AGM in Clapham instead.
